Installation & First Run#

Get Dedupify running in your HubSpot portal to start finding duplicates across your CRM. Installation takes only a few minutes.

Requirements#

You must be a Super Admin in your HubSpot portal, or a user your Super Admin has granted install rights, to complete the OAuth flow.
To edit Dedupify settings after installation, your HubSpot user must have the Integrations permission with Write access. Users without it can view settings but cannot save changes.

Installation Steps#

Initiate the Install: Navigate to artifactapps.com and click Join the free beta. You will be redirected to the HubSpot OAuth authorization page.
Select Your Portal: Choose the HubSpot portal where you want to install Dedupify.
Grant Permissions: Review the requested permissions. Dedupify requires read/write access to the CRM objects it manages — Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Tickets — and optionally requests custom-object access (Enterprise portals). Approve the optional custom-object permissions if you want to dedupe custom objects; you can also grant them later by reconnecting from the install link. Click Connect App.
Land on Settings: After OAuth completes, you are redirected to the Dedupify settings page inside HubSpot. From here you activate object types and configure your first matching rules.

Note: Dedupify is installed from artifactapps.com, not from the HubSpot App Marketplace.

Match Rules & Recipes#

A match rule is a named set of field comparisons that together define one kind of duplicate. Dedupify evaluates every rule you enable for an object type and surfaces candidate pairs that score above your configured threshold.

Supported Properties#

Recipes define how Dedupify compares each property when checking for duplicates. Common identifiers (email, phone, company name, domain) match automatically with no option shown; other fields get a “How to compare this property” menu defaulting to Auto-pick, which you can override.

So if you add a property to a rule and see no recipe option, that’s expected — Dedupify already applies the right comparison for that field. This page catalogs every supported recipe and helps you choose properties that build reliable rules.

Every match rule has two thresholds: one that controls what you see in the review queue, and an optional second one that lets Dedupify merge pairs automatically when confidence is high enough.

The review threshold sets the minimum confidence score a pair must reach before it appears in your review queue. Any pair scoring below it is ignored.

Object Settings give you fine-grained control over how Dedupify presents duplicates for review and what happens during a merge. Settings are configured per object type — Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets, and any activated custom objects — on the Object Settings tab.

How Scanning Works#

Dedupify finds duplicates through two complementary mechanisms: a full background scan that runs when you activate a rule, and continuous near-real-time monitoring that catches duplicates as your CRM changes.

Initial Scan#

Activating a match rule triggers a full background scan of all records for that object type. Dedupify works through every record in your portal and evaluates it against the rule.

The Dedupify settings page includes an Activity tab where you can review everything that has happened — merges, rule changes, and scans. The Dedupify home app also surfaces an Activity Dashboard tab alongside the Manage Duplicates tab.

How Pricing Works#

Dedupify is priced by capacity — the number of records across the object types you have activated.

Billing cycle	Price
Monthly	$10 per month per 10,000-record bucket
Annual	$5 per month per 10,000-record bucket

Capacity is measured in 10,000-record buckets that round up. If your activated records total 10,001, you need 2 buckets; if they total 10,000, you need 1.

Frequently Asked Questions#

Which records can Dedupify deduplicate?#

Dedupify supports Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets, and custom objects. Each object type is activated and configured independently — you can run Dedupify on Contacts without activating it for Deals, for example.

Custom objects require a HubSpot Enterprise subscription (HubSpot limits custom objects and their API access to Enterprise accounts). Dedupify requests custom-object access as an optional permission during install; if your portal has custom objects but Dedupify does not show them, reconnect Dedupify from the install link and approve the custom-object permissions when prompted.
